  1. for professional reasons e.g. networking, meetings, events etc 
  2. they often have library resources/services available to you e.g. journals we may not subscribe to, as well as briefings papers etc, that will keep you up to speed with developments in your area

Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Library

Heriot-Watt University Actuarial Mathematics students can use the Library of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), Edinburgh (with or without membership to the IFoA). Services include:

  • Book borrowing
  • Access to journals and trade magazines
  • Athens account to access IFoA Library online materials
