This service is currently available to SoSS students with priority given to honours and PG students. The service offers:-

Bloomberg Market Concept (BMC) course (a self-paced e-learning course providing an interactive introduction to the financial markets) offered online three times a year (during semesters one, two, and three). Contact Hoang Nguyen for more information.

Access to Bloomberg data for academic purposes only. On-campus access only via dedicated terminals. Advanced booking required. For Semesters 1 & 2 contact Hoang Nguyen. For Semester 3 contact Keith Spencer

You can use it to research individual companies, search for companies with specific profiles and for analysis. Company financials, in detailed format, with up to 10 years of history Financial strength indicators Directors and contacts Original filings/images as filed at Companies House and the Companies Registration Office in Ireland Stock data for listed companies Detailed corporate structures and the corporate family Shareholders and subsidiaries Industry research Adverse filings Business and company-related news M&A deals and rumours Fame covers over 8 million companies in the UK and Ireland  2 million companies in a detailed format 220,000 companies in a summary format Details of 850,000 companies that are active but not required to file accounts or have yet to file accounts 5 million companies that are no longer active. These are included so you can research patterns in default and confirm previous existence.

A business information resource containing a range of comprehensive business start-up guides, regulatory factsheets, industry reports and updates, for anyone looking to start a business, or write a marketing or business plan.
D&B Hoovers
A business information database which provides in depth profiles of companies worldwide, industry profiles, news and market research.
Frost & Sullivan
A business resource providing detailed industry analysis on chemical, energy, environmental and building technologies, healthcare, IT and manufacturing markets worldwide.
IBISWorld
Access from NLS reading rooms only. A business resource containing up to date research on hundreds of industries in the UK, including statistics, analysis and forecasts.

Fitch Excel template

To use the Fitch Excel template and install the Fitch Connect tab in Excel:

If you don’t already have a Fitch Connect login, request a login by emailing emeaclientservices@fitchsolutions.com
Login to Fitch Connect and navigate to the support pages (using the ? icon top right)
Download the Excel Add-in available at the base of the support page. To check which version to download, check your system type in Control Panel\System and Security\System
You will then be able to use the template and Excel to interact with Fitch Connect data
