EndNote 21 (desktop) is a better reference management tool than EndNote Basic/Online, with many additional features not available in the basic/online versions.  See:

For this reason, we recommend you use EndNote Desktop 21 as your 'main' EndNote Library and then 'sync' this with your EndNote 21 (online) Library.  For further information on Syncing see:
