Help

Your Academic Support and Liaison Librarian:

  • Helps with all aspects of information gathering and advice on locating, accessing or searching resources, or choosing databases  
  • Helps with off-campus access
  • Makes sure the Library's stock and services support teaching, study and research through liaison with Schools
  • Identifies and orders new resources
  • Advises staff on resources and services to support teaching
  • Advises on adding library materials to Canvas courses
  • Delivers classes on literature searching, citing and referencing and EndNote reference management software
    • as part of EGIS taught programmes
    • as part of other organised programmes e.g. Skills Hub, Kick Start Your Dissertation, Get Ready For Success

Developing your skills

You can contact your Academic Support and Liaison Librarian for one-to-one help/training in-person or via Teams.

Researcher Help

Information Services provides training, specialist services and resources to support postgraduate researchers and research staff throughout their careers, helping you to find and manage information and to disseminate and publish research findings.

IS also maintains and manages HWU staff publications in the Pure current research information system, provides the Doctoral students' theses repository (ROS), and provides advice on Open Access, Research Data Management and measuring impact/citation analysis.
