Researcher Development (Research Futures)

Literature Searching, Citing & Referencing and Reference Management are three key areas of getting started with your research.  As part of Research Futures programme for Heriot-Watt researchers, I deliver a set of online training on:

  • Literature Searching (Domain A)
  • Citing and Referencing (Domain C)

The online courses cover such things as:

  • the most appropriate resources to use for finding literature (e.g. theses, books, journal articles, standards, professional guidance etc)
  • using our databases for more systematic and complex searching
  • saving time by setting up alerts
  • saving time by using EndNote for reference management
  • what to do if you can’t access the full-text
